Juventus have completed the signing of Brazilian mid-fielder Diego from German club Werder Bremen for a fee of 21 million pounds
The 24-year-old player had a successful medical on Monday. Diego signed a five-year deal with the Serie A club.
Diego, who has also played for Porto and Werder Bremen, has a vast experience of playing at the top level.
“I am enthusiastic and delighted to be a part of such a prestigious club,” he told the club’s official website.
“I have dreamt of this moment since I was a child.
“After an experience in Portugal (with Porto) and in the Bundesliga, I will be able to prove my worth at a high level with difficult competition.
“It is the right time for me to take this important step and I am convinced that at Juventus I will be able to achieve great results.”
The Managing Director of Juventus, Jean Claude Blanc has welcomed the arrival of Diego in Turin.
“He’s a fundamental player in the strengthening of the side,” he said.
“We have always said our aim is to put together a blend of youth and experience and Diego, at 24, is a player with both.”
Bayern Munich have completed the signing of German Striker Mario Gomez
Bayern Munich had been tracking the German international striker for some time and are quite happy his signing.
Reports suggest the the two Bundesliga clubs have agreed a £26m deal. And the player agreed a five-year deal.
“Bayern Munich are delighted that Mario Gomez has decided to join our club,” said the chief executive Karl-Heinz Rimmenigge. “Mario is a top class striker that has scored over twenty goals in each of the last three seasons. He has proven to be one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga.
“We are now looking forward to having him on our team.”
Stuttgart now have to find a replacement of the departing player.
Blackburn defender Andre Ooijer has agreed a one-year deal with PSV Eindhoven after the end of his contract with the English club
The versatile defender spent nine years in the Dutch league with PSV before moving to Blackburn Rovers and the 34-year-old has always indicated that he would like to finish his career back in his native Holland.
Stephen Carr has agreed a two-year contract with Birmingham FC after helping the club win promotion from the Championship
The ex-Tottenham and ex-Newcastle defender announced his retirement in last year December before being tempted back into the game by Birmingham Manager Alex McLeish.
Carr agreed a short-term deal with Birmingham that will keep him until the end of the season and established himself as a key member of the Blues side.
