Fulham to bid for Gignac in January

Fulham manager Martin Jol is hopeful of signing Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac in the Winter transfer window. The French youngster was very much on his way to Cottage on the summer transfer deadline day, but in the last stages of negotiations Marseille decided to keep their striker at the Ligue 1 club.

“We had the player here and thought we would get him on loan, but Marseille decided they needed him back,” the Dutchman told the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle.

“We have established a good relationship with the player and club, so we will see what happens in the future.”

Martin Jol’s Cottagers will be in action on Sunday against Blackburn Rovers at home.
