Career with West Ham United FC:

In 1996 Rio Ferdinand started his professional footballing career with West Ham United FC, made his debut playing against Sheffield Wednesday in a 1-1 draw. Ferdinand Won the West Ham United player of the year award in 1998.

Transfer to Leeds United FC:

In November of 2000, Rio Ferdinand moved to Leeds United. It was the most expensive transfer at that time in English football. Rio had a very short spell at Leeds before he completed his journey to Manchester United.

Career with Manchester United FC:

Manchester United signed Rio Ferdinand for a record Fee of around 30 million British pounds. Playing for Manchester United in the first season, the team won the 2002-2003 English Premier League title.

In 2003, Ferdinand missed to attend a drug test which sidelined him from playing for club and international matches. He missed the rest of that EPL Season and the Euro 2004.

International Career:

In November of 1997, Rio Ferdinand made his debut for England playing against Cameroon.
